Apple’s ipad tablet computer has been such a hit in the US that its launch over here has been delayed by a month. Nevertheless, we got hold of one and could check how Truvo looks on the iPad. Hereunder, you can see the pictures… 
We constantly try to improve our product here at Truvo. Often by listening to feedback our users are giving, sometimes by taking our own decisions and figuring out ways to add value. In the latest deploy you can find examples of both. What are some of the things we have been recently working on?
1/ Events linked to our places and locations
Big novelty (and experiment) you can find on Truvo.com – the Belgian site – are Events. First thing you see on the site now is that new Events tab. In a later phase we will also roll this out for Portugal and Ireland.
We have a lot of great users on Truvo. As with all review or contribution sites, you have some people who give their opinion once in a while, and a small group of really passionate users. One of them is Artcor in Portugal. His stats are truly impressive:

In times when people are making presentations titled “10 reasons why now is the perfect time to get serious about the mobile web” , we thought it’s the perfect moment to start promoting our Truvo iPhone App v.1. It officially hit Apple’s App store a while ago, giving us the occasion to test it on a number of limited users for a while. Now we want to open it up to a bigger audience, and would like your feedback on how to improve it in the future. It is available for Portugal, Ireland and Belgium.
As you can understand from what we are doing here at Truvo, we’re very taken with the idea of consumers creating content for the web. In the process, we always wanted to lower as much as possible the threshold for our users. We quickly realized though that a lot of our users remained “passive”.
They contributed on the site, but never really activated (by confirming their mail address), which potentially could affect the value of those contributions. To increase the trust factor of the contributors on the site, we recently decided every “contributor” had to be a “confirmed user”.

Op zoek naar leuke adresjes voor een heerlijke kop koffie? Dan moet je zeker eens op Truvo kijken. Sinds kort is er een Starbucks in het Centraal Station van Antwerpen. Alles komt er rechtstreeks uit de VS. Zelfs de muffins worden er (bevroren) geïmporteerd, leren we uit de reviews. Of ben je op zoek naar net iets meer dan een koffie? Dan is er bijvoorbeeld de Bibiche in Hasselt. Je kunt er terecht voor een kop koffie, thee of een hapje. Maar je kunt er ook rondneuzen in de modeaccessoires en een persoonlijke stijlanalyse laten maken !
Droom je er ook wel eens van om in iemands leven te snuffelen? Dan is Truvo net wat je zoekt! Door verschillende bijdragen te lezen van een persoon krijg je een (min of meer echt?) beeld van iemand. Verken met Cisse of oyo bijvoorbeeld Antwerpen. Of ontdek adressen om je huis te (ver)bouwen en in te richten met Bizzzy Girl in Turnhout. Zo leer je ze een (piepklein) beetje kennen…
Om het je nog gemakkelijker te maken, vind je op Truvo trouwens ook gidsen. Zo’n gids groepeert handige adressen rond één thema. Voor Diepenbeek is er sinds deze week bijvoorbeeld Places 2BE @ Diepenbeek. Misschien weet jij wel een aantal leuke plekjes? Laat het ons weten en maak je gids!
Dat Truvo best handig is om leuke winkels of restaurants te ontdekken bleek ook deze week. Je kent misschien de Sun Wah in Antwerpen? De Chinese supermarkt die al eens in het nieuws komt? Volgens de reviewers blijft het toch duidelijk de nummer 1 als je Aziatisch wil koken. Of wil je wel Chinees eten, maar laat je het koken liever aan anderen over? Dan moet je in Keerbergen naar restaurant White House. Blijkbaar de beste Chinees in de regio. Of liever Italiaans? Ga in Leuven dan naar restaurant Piaceri d’Italia voor grote, mooi geserveerde porties tegen een redelijke prijs.

Late December 2009 Briefingroom.eu launched, an online platform where advertisers and creatives could collaborate without the intermediate rol of an agency.
The idea of BriefingRoom.eu is that companies can post briefings and all creatives (strategists, art directors, copywriters, etc.) can pitch on those. A cool idea we thought, very much in the UGC direction of our own Truvo Social platform, and wanted to be the first to actually test it out. We therefore came up with a rather big briefing challenge.

Belofte maakt schuld, en vorige week hebben we onze prijzenschuld afgelost bij de winnaars van de Advent Competitie.
Er werden zo maar even 24 prijzen verdeeld over 18 winnaars. Grote slokop was Bombjack die een Xbox 360 en de iMac mee naar huis mocht nemen. Ook Caroline die met 2 Magnus wijnbonnen en 1 Cadeaubox naar huis gaat kan niet klagen.
